Part of my ‘Spirited Women’ series of intuitive portraits. 'The Blue Deer' is a tale of a girl playing her ukulele to her spirit guide, Kayumari, the fire god of the Wixárica tribe. As the sun rises on a new dawn, a spider's web clings to the deer’s antlers, new growth is rising from the once-burnt landscape and the waters of Lemuria stir.

Designed, illustrated and entirely hand painted in traditional mixed media.
